CCW 8-Week Practical Skills Workshop

This 8-Week course is designed for CCW holders (or currently in process of) to increase their abilities to handle their firearm appropriately in multiple shooting situations. The classes will build in progression, starting at intermediate basics, and then increasing in dynamics and complexity.  Each class will begin with a review of the previous class.

Each week must be taken in order 1-8. If one week is missed then it will need to be taken the following term to complete all segments of the course.

Strict Prerequisite: current CCW holder or has received the CCW approval letter from the Sheriff’s office.

 Equipment Requirements: Firearm, 100 Rds. Of Ammo per class, 4 Mags, Holster Belt, Flashlight.

Eight Week Course Details: 

1. Grip, grip pressure, trigger dynamics/control, left hand only, right hand only. Universal safety laws.
2. Draw process, draw under time and pressure, close contact.
3. The load, emergency reload, tactical reload. Malfunctions.

4. Behind cover; from standing; from kneeling; while on the move. Emergency and Tactical reload behind cover.
5. Dynamic shooting patterns: Moving forward, moving backward, angular movement, perpendicular movement, static shooter/moving target, moving shooter/moving target.
6. Contact left, contact right, contact behind.  Adding components of 3,4, and 5.
7. Repeat of class 6.
8. Repeat of class 7 and adding threat identification, problem solving and multi-tasking.
